Chiru’s managers to mobilise people for praja rajyam meeting

Managers of film actor Chiranjeevi’s political party are pulling out all stops to mobilise people for the star’s maiden public meeting at Tirupati on August 26. On Tuesday, feverish activity was witnessed at the office of Geeta Arts on Road No. 45, the production house belonging to the actor’s brother-in-law Allu Aravind. Members of the party’s core committee were not leaving anything to chance, despite their confidence that the mere appearance of the star would be enough to draw the crowds.

Khaleel Basha of Kadapa and Jonna Suryanarayana from Kadiri in Anantapur districts, senior leaders who were with the Telugu Desam Party earlier held meetings with Mitra and Vinay, members of the core committee. It is understood that given their proximity to Chittoor district, leaders who have pitched in their lot with the actor’s political outfit in Anantapur and Kadapa were given the task of ensuring the maximum turnout from their districts.

Senior officials of the APSRTC said they had received a request from Chiranjeevi’s supporters in every district for hiring buses. Coordinators from each of the 295 Assembly constituencies have been entrusted the task of mobilising at least five busloads of people from their area. A key aide of the actor in his political ‘arangetram’ spent interacted with waiting presspersons. However, no information was forthcoming and the shroud of secrecy concerning the party remained in place. All he would say was “In good faith, Mr. Chiranjeevi has specifically asked us to keep key details away from the media for now. He will make the announcements himself when things are in place,” he said.
