Chiranjeevi to elaborate on party agenda soon

Hyderabad, Sept 10 : Seeking to silence criticism that he lacked clarity on key issues, actor-politician Chiranjeevi today said his newly launched Praja Rajyam party would come out with its agenda and clear views in the election manifesto.

"I have complete understanding and concrete views on all public issues and I will come out with details very soon. It is common people who will drive our agenda and priorities," he said while addressing his fans here. The actor said party's policies and programmes would focus on the welfare of the poor and solving the pressing problems of common people. Chiranjeevi, who launched the party on August 26 at the temple town of Tirupati, has been facing flak from the ruling Congress and the main opposition TDP for lack of clarity on crucial issues like Talangana statehood demand, categorisation of scheduled castes and Naxalism.

"I have no personal agenda to pursue. It is the people who will decide my agenda and prioritise my programmes," Chiranjeevi said amid loud applause from the gathering. Meanwhile, prominent Congress leader and Mayor of Nellore town P Sailaja Reddy quit the ruling party and joined the Praja Rajyam in the presence of the actor. "Women are being neglected in the Congress regime. There is no safety and security for them. I have decided to join Praja Rajyam as Chiranjeevi is genuinely interested in empowerment of women," Sailaja Reddy said.
